WOOF

That, the little Labrador hiding in the corner, is my best friend (and the most photographed dog in England!). She seriously is my life, and so perfect that she makes the perfect photography subject. In other news, my brother has discovered iMovie and I am now having videos made about how I'm Ginger. Constantly.

RAMBLING

Chilling in Wales currently, which is lovely and relaxing. And yes, I may have taken the plunge and gotten instagram. Kinda enjoying it because I can take pretty pictures anywhere and everywhere, so if you use it feel free to follow, my username is envoie, and if your a photography fanatic yourself I'll probably follow you! Oh, also went to the Damien Hirst exhibition, wasn't particularly impressed but I will definitely do a post on it when I return home where all my notebooks are.

WALK AND TALK

I think these are pretty self explanatory, I went on a photowalk and this is what I came out with, aha! Pretty pleased with them though, especially the double exposures.

MADNESS

These are completely unrelated perhaps, but nevermind.

Yayoi Kusama is an artist I really, really admire. Like genuinely. I was watching somehing about her earlier on the Tate website about how she was encouraged NOT to paint when she was younger, even had materials taken off her, yet she displayed this amazing want to make art, and made paintings and sold them. She then took herself to New York and broke into a majorly male Art scene and now has a show in the Tate, which next week, I'm going to see! Very excited, for the infinity mirror rooms and crazy patterns, I'll be sure to take some good photos and get inspired.

Also, Damien Hirst. Thought I just had to go to his show seeing as I'd be at the Tate anyway, I'd feel like I was missing out if I didn't. Wouldn't call myself a fan of his work, but it intrigues me, and I'm quite interested to see it in real life really! Again, expect drawings galore!

MAPPING

I'm not overly sure why i felt the need to do this but i did it anyway. A vagueish map of the canals system of the west midlands.

TOO BAD

Well, this film is too cute. Find it on BBC iplayer, called Repo Chick, and it's directed by Alex Cox. Kind of green screen effect, lots of scaled down images and models.

YOUTH

Jeremy Shaw - DMT
This book is one of my favourites. It explores ideas of youth culture and escaping it and stuff, and just doesn't make sense in a brilliant way.

FOLLOW THE RULES

went on a lomowalk today, which was pretty fun really! Not going to put a photo of it on here because they caught me looking miserable but yep! Got to use one of the cool cameras for the day, and take hundreds of photos, plus because I'm a slow kinda person I only used one roll so they gave me another! Pretty cool, and if you live in birmingham, there's one coming up soon in the SeaLife Centre!

TRIANGLES AND LINES

doodlings from the COS magazine. After reading about it on Love Aesthetics I kinda ran to te shop in Birmingham and yes, well, am now a little obsessed {not so much with the prices though however, booohooooo}. I really want one of the shirts on the left, they look so lovely and comfy too.

BUZZ

Found this book in my room, having thought i'd lost it, but yeah, just thoughts for today. Feeling a bit upside down from lack of sleep, because all the lights in the house were buzzing all night. My dad always says me and mum seem to hear electricity, which he can't, things like lights when they're turned on and the computer. Odd to think about really.

TRANSMITT

I love notebooks, gotta say. These are my doodles from my day out today, which was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Got to do loads of fun stuff and yeah, it was just fab. My favourite bit perhaps, the planetarium at Thinktank museum where we looked at radio signals, which my diagram of is on the left hand side of the picture. Yeah, just love the idea that the longer we transmitt signals, the further in space we can learn about. Light and time are two confusing concepts to a simple mind like mine, so I've been trying to teach myself by reading Stephen Hawkin's 'A Brief History of Time' and it's paying off a bit {not enough for me to understand any of it though!} Apparently if you get dragged into a blackhole, you'd look like this because there's an altered concept of time :

DEFINE

Well, I have no camera, as i broke every single one in the house...
But I do have a scanner! And also my dads old cosina camera, and film I bought at poundland. Yes, you heard me right poundland. I'm starting my film stuff tomorrow I think, beginning with introduction but its all a bit daunting. So, here's the dictionary def to calm me down:

in·tro·duc·tion
[in-truh-duhk-shuhn]
noun
1.
the act of introducing or the state of being introduced.
2.
a formal personal presentation of one person to another or others.
3.
a preliminary part, as of a book, musical composition, or the like, leading up to the main part.
4.
an elementary treatise: an introduction to botany.
5.
an act or instance of inserting.

I don't know, sometimes I think really a dictionary def is enough to explain something, because it strips it back to basics.

REALITY

Going to be completely honest, I'm not even sure! My brother was messing around when I was meant to be scanning something else, and well, the end result! Just shows how anything can be interesting, he tried the obvious bum photocopy of course but yeah, y'know..
